Louise Minchin


Louise Minchin is a well-known and much-loved television presenter and journalist.

For twenty years, Louise presented BBC1’s flagship morning show, BBC Breakfast, which has an average audience of 6 million viewers a day.  From the famous red sofa, she covered every major news story and interviewed politicians, celebrities and ordinary people who were making the headlines. 

Her warm and engaging personality ensured she was a favourite with viewers and a national treasure for millions of households across the nation.

In 2021 Louise starred in ITV’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here which took place in a derelict castle in North Wales.  She has also appeared in Channel 4’s reality history show The Time Crashers (2015) and was a runner-up in the BBC’s Celebrity MasterChef (2016).

Louise’s passion is endurance sport.  Having given up competitive sport as a teenager, Louise rediscovered a love of it after a BBC Breakfast Christmas cycling challenge.  She was inspired to attempt her first triathlon in 2013 and went on to qualify for the GB Team age-group team to race in Chicago in 2015.  Since then, she has competed in five World and European triathlon championships as well as extreme events including one of the toughest triathlons in the world, Norseman (2019).

Her first book DARE TO TRI charted Louise’s triathlon journey and was published by Bloomsbury in 2018 and was shortlisted for a Telegraph Sports Book Award.  Her second book FEARLESS: EXTRAORDINARY ADVENTURES WITH COURAGEOUS WOMEN was published in May 2023 to rave reviews with the Times calling it ‘brilliant, impressive and vividly told’.

Louise is currently working on her debut thriller ISOLATION ISLAND which will be published by Headline in Autumn 2024.

Louise also presents two podcast series – Push Your Peak for Wattbike, interviewing inspiring athletes and the other for Her Spirit which aims to encourage women to take up exercise and transform their lives.

Louise is married with two daughters, two Labradors and two rescue mini Shetland ponies.
