Happy birthday NHS
Saliha Mahmood Ahmed was back on Saturday Kitchen last weekend, cooking delicious dishes from her latest book THE KITCHEN PRESCRIPTION, talking about the 75th anniversary of the NHS and how proud she is to be part of the institution. When Saliha is on television, the effect it has on her book sales is extraordinary. The book (which has been out on the shelves since March) bounced back up the charts to be the number one bestselling title on Amazon. Authors understand that television appearances can be key opportunities for promoting their titles, but there are few who have as much impact on their book sales as Saliha. And it is always a particular joy when we have clients on when @knackeredmother drinks supremo and novelist to boot, Helen McGinn, is recommending the drinks.
Last weekend was also the Latitude Festival and Rebecca Bishop, author of THE TWO MAGPIES BAKERY, was baking and book-signing and not letting rain dampen the Suffolk spirit in The Theatre of Food.
And this Thursday (27th July) Louise Minchin will be on BBC1’s THE ONE SHOW talking about her book FEARLESS, the women who inspired it and the adventures she had with them.
