It takes an army - the Headline team behind Isolation Island at the launch

After a summer lull, our authors’ books are hitting the shelves again and it is exhilarating to be back launching new titles and hoping that readers discover and love them.  ISOLATION ISLAND, Louise Minchin’s debut thriller, was published by Headline last week and was immediately chosen by The Sunday Times as their ‘Book of the month’.  We celebrated its launch with a party generously hosted by the Hilton Park Lane followed by a trip to Chester for a conversation between Louise and the bestselling writer, Clare Mackintosh, in the atmospheric St John’s Church.  From there, Louise charged up to Bloody Scotland for an event with Ruth Ware which marked the start of her book tour.   There has been plenty of press and media reviewing the book and how Louise was inspired by her time on reality TV shows, including slots on ITV’s Lorraine and James Martin’s Saturday Morning.

On the subject of the small screen, it has been great to see Dr Saliha Mahmood Ahmed share her knowledge as a gastroenterologist and MasterChef winner on ITV’s This Morning a couple of times through the summer.  She will be back in the studio kitchen at the end of September to talk about how food can help boost immunity.  She is currently working on her new book which will be out next Spring.

Last week, Stuart Hillard gathered the great and good of the crafting community at the rooftop bar of NYX Hotel Holborn to celebrate the publication of his fifth book QUILTS FROM THE COUNTRY which Pavilion published.  And Tasha Bailey celebrated the release of the paperback edition of REAL TALK: Lessons from a Therapist to Help you Heal.

We are well and truly in the Autumn publishing flurry with ‘Super Thursday’ looming large.  There are just three weeks to go before the day when 1,900 books will be published, of which 457 will be hardbacks.  Amongst them, our Rory Cellan-Jones’s SOPHIE FROM ROMANIA.
