David Derbyshire
David is an award-winning journalist who has more than 20 years’ experience writing news and features for Britain’s national newspapers.
He was the Daily Mail‘s environment editor and science correspondent, and the Daily Telegraph‘s science and medical correspondent and consumer affairs editor. He began his journalism career in the mid-1990s at the Grimsby Evening Telegraph.
As a freelance, he has written for the Guardian, Observer, Daily Mail, National Trust magazine and Sunday Times. David’s awards include ‘Medical Journalist of the Year’ and joint winner of the ‘Press Gazette Environmental Press Awards’.
He uses his experience in print journalism to offer media training and consultancy to universities, scientists, charities and businesses through the agency RNA Media.
David’s first novel THE SLEEP OF REASON a counter terrorism political thriller co-written with Sir Mark Rowley, was published in 2022 by Legend Press.
