Jo Behari was working in marketing for a major city firm when she decided to jack it in and start her own business. Having cleaned up after a messy plumber one afternoon, she had the inspired idea of setting up an all-female crack team of handywomen. Home Jane was born in 2006, supplying qualified tradeswomen to tackle all DIY jobs, from building shelves to bathroom re-fits. The company grew rapidly and Jo now employs over fifty tradeswomen all around the UK.
Jo is a keen DIY woman herself and was one of the presenters on the Channel 4 series Make, Do and Mend. She co-wrote her first book THE GIRLS GUIDE TO DIY with Alison Winfield-Chislett, which was published by New Holland in 2011. Jo and Alison also opened the Good Life Centre, running a series of workshops promoting practical skills and self-sufficiency.
She was the DIY expert for House Beautiful magazine for several years and lives in east London with her husband Ian and their two children.
