Pip Payne

Pip is a passionate home cook who loves sharing food with friends and family. She grew up in Devon but, after graduating from University, she moved to London where she worked in the media industry. In 2012 Pip and her husband returned to Devon with a toddler and baby in tow.

In 2015 Pip founded The Slimming Foodie. She was keen to lose the weight that she had put on during her pregnancies but couldn’t find any online resources with the types of recipes that she wanted to cook. She began by sharing her own creations on a Facebook page and quickly gained a loyal following. Spurred on by the popularity of her recipes, she launched her blog later that year.

Keeping a love of food at the fore, Pip’s approach is about bringing back convenient home cooking by making healthy recipes that are accessible to a new wave of home cooks and removing the stigma from ‘slimming’. She is mindful of the ingredients used, the cost, and not over-complicating things, creating great tasting meals that are cooked from scratch, cutting down on fat and sugar whilst following science-led nutrition advice. Pip believes in approaching healthy eating with moderation and without making drastic, unsustainable changes.

Pip has an impressive social media platform.  She has established a Facebook community of over 240,000 members, has over 98,000 followers on Instagram and has received over three million visits to her blog. She balances creating new recipes and content for The Slimming Foodie blog and social media channels with the demands of having a young family, and often works alongside her filmmaker husband, Darren, to create professional recipe videos.

Pip works regularly with high profile clients including: Tefal, AO, Iceland, Welsh Beef & Lamb, Lee Kum Kee, Nando’s, Hello Fresh, Sonos, PGI Welsh Lamb & Beef, The Saucy Fish Company, Alaskan Seafood, Primula, Iberico Ham, Frylight, Clarks Maple Syrup, Splenda, Arla, Naked Noodle.

Pip’s first book THE SLIMMING FOODIE: EVERYDAY MEALS MADE HEALTHY, HEARTY & DELICIOUS contains over one hundred recipes under 600 calories.  It was published by Octopus in 2021 and became an instant bestseller.  THE SLIMMING FOODIE IN ONE was published a year later and soared straight into the number one spot on the Sunday Times bestseller list.  Pip’s much-anticipated third book THE SLIMMING FOODIE IN MINUTES will be published in April 2023.

Pip lives in South Devon with her husband, two young daughters and a dog.
