Mary Gwynn trained at Leiths School of Food and Wine and then as a cookery journalist at Good Housekeeping. She went on to become the founding Editor of BBC Vegetarian Good Food (1992–96), edited M&S Magazine, and worked as a consultant editor and trainer for Waitrose for many years too. Having balanced a working life with raising a young family it was only right that Mary’s book, THE BUSY MUM’S COOKBOOK, was commissioned by Simon & Schuster and published in August 2011. It was followed in 2013 by its vegetarian sequel, THE BUSY MUM’S VEGETARIAN COOKBOOK. Two new books from Mary came out in March 2015: THE WI COOKBOOK, published by Ebury, a collection of the 100 best ever recipes from the WI nationwide, compiled to celebrate the centenary; this was followed swiftly by BACK IN TIME FOR DINNER, from Bantam Press, a marvellous companion to the popular BBC series of the same name.

Mary has two grown-up daughters and lives in East Sussex.
