Emily Scott is a chef and restauranteur in Cornwall. Her passion for the connection between food, a sense of place and storytelling is infectious and her story is one which interweaves the sentimental tales of a childhood in Provence with her grandfather ‘Papa’ collecting strawberries from the fields, to the beautiful shores of Cornwall, with its golden sandy beaches, which is now her home.
Emily loves nothing more than delighting others through food, bringing friends and family together around the table. She has been recognised by Michelin since 2016, listed in Code Hospitality’s ‘100 most influential women in hospitality’ and in 2019 she represented the South West on BBC2’s Great British Menu.
Her current restaurant, Emily Scott Food, is at Watergate Bay and she was selected as one of the host chefs to cook for world leaders and royalty at the 2021 G7 summit in Cornwall.
Published by Hardie Grant in June 2020, SEA & SHORE: Recipes and Stories from a Kitchen in Cornwall is Emily’s debut cookbook. Set to the backdrop of the stunning Cornish landscape, and with evocative stories throughout, it is a fresh exploration of the British Southwest coast, celebrating the exciting, culinary spirit of this special place.
Emily lives in Cornwall with her partner, Mark, a winemaker. They enjoy spending time in Cornwall and Bordeaux – two places they love – and she has three children; Oscar, Finn and Evie.
