Emma was born and raised in Brighton to Jewish parents of Polish and Russian descent. Her love of cooking started from a very early age. She shadowed her mother in the kitchen who regularly cooked traditional Ashkenazi Jewish dishes passed down from her Polish parents, and now loves to draw influences from her travels throughout the Middle East, her cultural heritage, and her mother-in-law’s North African roots.
Emma’s ambition started at an early age; at 28 she set up her travel business selling luxury spa holidays worldwide. In 2007, the company launched its award winning second brand, Tots Too, which offers luxury family holidays worldwide. She currently runs the business with her sister and employs 10 staff.
Following her success on reaching the final three in MasterChef, Emma has been in high-demand. She has been teaching cookery classes and demonstrating at food festivals, running sell-out supper clubs and catering private dining events. She is also a public speaker at events for inspirational women and combining motherhood with a career. Tots Too is currently working on launching its new strand of cookery holidays for kids in 2015. Emma has just been signed to film a mini-series on the new cooking channel, Simply Good Food TV.
She creates food with lots of passion and lots of spice. Her style is big, bold flavours with many different ingredients coming together on one plate. Gregg Wallace said “Emma is one of the best cooks we have seen throughout MasterChef” and John Torode said “Emma’s food stirs my emotion.”
Emma lives in North London with her husband, four young daughters and their cat.
Her first book FRESS was published in April 2017 by Mitchell Beazley.
