Orlando Murrin was educated at Cambridge and his first job was Radio 3 sub-editor at the Radio Times. He subsequently pursued a career in lifestyle magazines, including Country Homes and Interiors, Cosmopolitan and Woman and Home, which he edited from 1997 to 1999. During a spell as an advertising copywriter he entered MasterChef and won through to the semi-finals, then became editor of BBC Good Food and founder of Olive until 2004. In France, he created a highly successful boutique hotel, Le Manoir de Raynaudes, followed by one in Somerset, Langford Fivehead. He has written eight books, including a memoir of his time in France, A Table in the Tarn (HarperCollins). He now divides his time between food writing (BBC Good Food), rescuing lost roses and his musical passion, the Romanian pianist Dinu Lipatti (1917-1950).
Orlando’s debut cookbook TWO’S COMPANY: THE BEST OF COOKING FOR COUPLES, FRIENDS & ROOMMATES was published by Ryland, Peters & Small in 2021, with TWO’S COMPANY: SIMPLE following in 2022.
