Kelly was born and bred in Wales but it was whilst living in Turkey that her love of cooking started. A Welsh, 40 year-old mother of two, Kelly began her reducedgrub journey after a chance encounter with a supermarket worker brandishing a reduced food gun. After discovering the gobsmacking savings that can be made on quality ingredients found in the reduced aisle, she felt her secret was too much to keep to herself and sought to share her inside knowledge and recipes to the world.
In her working life, Kelly is an air hostess and after befriending Lorraine Kelly on a long haul flight in April, was invited onto ITV’s This Morning to showcase how she ‘feeds her family on twenty pounds a week.’ Further TV appearances include an interview with hosts Denise Lewis and Dominic Littlewood on BBC1’s show, Right on the Money.
Her popularity on social media has continued to grow and she has been the subject of articles for the Daily Mail, Good Housekeeping and the Scottish Sun, to name a few. This year, Kelly was named one of the top 10 bloggers to watch in 2017 by Moneywise Magazine as well as winning the SHO-MO Best Frugal Food Blogger of 2016.
Kelly continues to use her work as an opportunity to travel and loves nothing more than finding her way into a restaurant and picking up recipes from the locals to add to her collection.
