Julie Fisher is a photographer, food writer and ice cream maker. For 34 years she was an Editorial and Advertising Photographer, working on many cookery books alongside top home economists and in various glamorous locations.
Julie started making ice cream in a small domestic ice cream maker, testing all her recipes on her very lucky and enthusiastic neighbours. After a few months of feedback on all her experiments, Julie took a market stall outside the Tuffnell Park Tavern for four hours every Saturday, selling ice cream in cones and tubs, whatever the weather. A year later Julie opened her shop Ruby Violet, inspired by her maternal grandmother who loved a choc ice and would always treat Julie and her siblings to delicious ice cream.
Julie’s first book, RUBY VIOLET’S ICE CREAM DREAMS, was published in 2013 by Hardie Grant.
