Denise Barnes has sold lipstick in a Denver store, modelled in Atlanta, assisted the UN Narcotics Director in Geneva, chauffeured a Swiss Gnome in Zurich, assisted a famous film producer in the UK, and cooked in a sanatorium in Germany, giving rise to her first book: FROM BAD TO WURST: Bavarian adventures of a veggie cook (pub. 2008).
She sold her estate agency business in 2005 to the wrong buyers and SELLER BEWARE: How Not To Sell Your Business (Biteback Publishing 2013) was the result.
She has finished the third novel of a trilogy called The Voyagers – a saga stretching from 1913 – 2010 and has a romantic comedy waiting in the wings. Denise is a first-time contributor to the USA ‘Chicken Soup for the Soul’ series. Her story, The Challenge, in their 200th book The Joy of Less, was recently featured as a highlight of ‘Good Morning America.’
Writing as Molly Green, Denise has written a trilogy set in Liverpool in a Dr Barnardo’s orphanage during the Second World War. The first novel AN ORPHAN IN THE SNOW (Avon, 2017) quickly rose up the heatseakers chart in fiction. Her second and third books in the series, AN ORPHAN’S WAR, and AN ORPHAN’S WISH have both been published by Avon in 2018, earning her a loyal following of fans.
Molly’s latest novel A SISTER’S COURAGE was published in November 2019 and is the first in THE VICTORY SISTERS series. It tells the story of Raine Linfoot whose dream of becoming a pilot is realised in World War II when she becomes one of the few female pilots able to deliver fighter planes to the men on the Front Line.
‘Molly Green creates realistic characters and situations that keep you turning the pages.’
